Dear BKIK Family,

亲爱的BKIK大家庭，

Greetings from BKIK! Last week was Lingnan Culture Week at BKIK. We worked hard to make sure everything went well. We especially want to thank Ms. Saya for teaching about Lingnan Culture through PYP art classes that allowed our parents to work alongside their children. Also we want to thank our parents for attending this open day activity. It’s your company that makes the children feel joy and have good memories. During the week the children and parents created many beautiful art works together. At the end of the week we held a small exhibition in the lobby to show these works to all, and the outcome looked great

大家好！上周是我们的岭南文化周，在大家的共同努力下，活动圆满结束。感谢我们的美术老师Saya在岭南文化周中的悉心准备以及各班老师的积极配合，为大家带来了丰富的艺术创作形式，让孩子与家长一起动手，共同领略岭南文化之美。也很感谢家长朋友们能参与到我们的岭南文化周开放日活动来，你们的陪伴让孩子们多了份美好的回忆。一周下来，大家创作了许多精美的艺术作品，我们在幼儿园大堂为大家呈现了一个小小的岭南文化成果展，让大家的作品能被更多人欣赏，效果相当不错呢。

The first unit of our UOI has drawn to a close. During our Friday assembly, the children presented what they had recently learned. In Pre-K, the students learned to say hello as well as other forms of self-expression. K1A students introduced their family members and the color they like. K1B students spoke about their appreciation for their family in Chinese and English. The inquiry theme of K2 was “Who We Are”, and recently they were discussing what it means to be a good friend. K2A and K2B students were divided into groups and worked together to draw a picture demonstrating how to be kind. K3 students put on animal headwear to produce a short drama of the Chinese Zodiac. It’s really great to see the students presenting themselves in different languages, and being more and more confident. We also chose two BKIK Ambassadors from each class. The teachers presented them with a certificate acknowledging what learner profile group they fit into and why they deserved to be our school ambassador. We hope that all our BKIK students will become excellent global citizens who fit each of the PYP Learner Profiles.

这周各班第一单元的探究主题已接近尾声，在周五的集会中，孩子们纷纷展示了近期所学。小小班的孩子们学习了我是谁，他们为我们用歌舞的形式展示了他们最近学习的问候方式。小班的小朋友们介绍了他们的家庭组成，还有家人喜欢的颜色，以及他们爱家人的原因。小一班的孩子们还给我们带来了一支有趣的小伞舞。中班的探究主题在于人际关系，他们学习了如何进行合作，两个中班的孩子用画画的形式一起创作，表达朋友间要相互友好。他们还用诗歌和音乐展示了他们的粤语。大班的孩子们则用英文短剧给我们演绎了中国十二生肖的故事。我们很开心能看到孩子们展示所学到的内容，表现越来越自信大方。这周我们仍然从每个班评选了2名校园大使，并颁发了证书。我们衷心希望孩子们都能成为符合PYP培养目标的国际公民。

On Saturday all of our staff had a training to review the mission of our kindergarten, laws and regulations of education, and safety matters that need more attention. We are always trying to improve ourselves and work hard to make our school the best. We also held a small birthday party for our staff. Happy Birthday to us!

周六，幼儿园全体员工回园，进行幼儿园使命、教育法律法规及安全方面的培训。幼儿园的全体上下，都在不断提高自身水平并努力工作使我们学校变的更好。我们还给十月份过生日的员工举行了一个小小的生日会。祝福十月生日的我们生日快乐哦！

安全培训暨员工生日会

In order to ensure that the children always have a healthy diet, we will hold a monthly meeting about nutrition on October 26th 9:00-10:30. In this meeting we will invite some parents from northern China to participate, and listen to their views so that we may improve the quality of our children’s diet and make their nutrition more balanced.

同时，为了不断优化幼儿的健康饮食，我们将在本周四（10月26日）9:00-10:30举行幼儿膳食月度专题会议，请各位膳食委员按时出席。本次会议我们还会邀请几位北方的家长参与，听取南北家长的共同意见，丰富幼儿的饮食结构，让孩子们营养更加均衡。

Due to an Education Bureau requirement, Halloween activities will not be allowed at school. Thus we will instead be having a big birthday party for the whole school on October 27th 14:45-15:45. The theme of this party is "masquerade". Please prepare a costume for the children, and put it in their school bag. Teachers will help children to dress up in their costumes after nap time.

周五（10月27日）14：45-15：45，我们将为全园十月份生日的小朋友举办生日会。本次生日会的主题为“化妆舞会”，届时请家长们为孩子准备服装，放在孩子的书包，午睡后老师会为孩子盛装打扮，举行他们的生日舞会。

美好瞬间 BKIK Highlights

On Thursday, Mr. Benson Zhang from Dipont Education visited our kindergarten.

上周四，来自狄邦教育的张董参观了我园，就课程及学校管理等相关问题进行了交流。

Last week was the Lingnan culture week. Our art teacher Ms. Saya prepared many fun classes for us. Pre-K made masks of Cantonese Drama, K1A was batik painting on paper umbrellas, and K1B designed and painted their own Manchuria window. K2A decorated blue and white china while K2B created traditional paper-cuts for window decoration. K3 made Chinese monochromes and learned how to paint lotus flowers on a fan.

We all had a great time in the PYP art class!

在上周的岭南文化周中，美术老师Saya给大家带来形式丰富的艺术课，小小班的粤剧脸谱拼贴、小一班的蜡染画、小二班的满洲窗、中一班的青花瓷、中二班的剪纸窗花、大班的水墨扇画，每天都精彩纷呈，孩子家长体验得不亦乐乎。

小一班的小朋友们在作画过程中发现蜡与水彩不相融，好奇地撑着小伞开始作画。最后成品出来，大家开心地比对着。

K1A children discovered that the wax was not compatible with their watercolors, and were curious about the structure of the little umbrella during their painting. They were very happy with their art work when they finished.

小二班的小朋友兴奋地拿着自己的窗户，跟爸爸妈妈一起讨论怎么设计心目中的满洲窗，并涂上喜欢的颜色。

K1B children were really excited to decorate their window, and discussed with their parents what it should look like before painting it with their favorite colors.

Teachers also taught students some knowledge about Lingnan culture during their normal classes. During Friday's assembly some classes presented what they had learned about Lingnan culture in different ways.

除了在艺术公开课上学习了许多岭南文化的艺术形式，老师平常在课堂上也有对孩子做岭南文化知识的渗透。在周五的集会里，部分班级还给大家带来了别具风格的展示。
